Lucy Moore writes about the teaching this day about Messy Church as following:
Lucy Moore“We’ll hear the story of how Messy Church began in 2004 in the UK. Within the story we will think about the principles underlying it and what needs it is addressing. We will see what it consists of – the shape and the values and how it has grown across the world in many different contexts and denominations. We’ll think about the problems Messy Church leaders face and how to tackle them.”
We will look at the practicalities of starting one and sustaining it. What resources are available to help.
We will also consider what ‘discipleship’ looks like in this context and what lessons the rest of the Church is learning from Messy Church.
And we will even get a bit messy ourselves…

Lucy Moore works for BRF as the Messy Church team leader. She is responsible for developing the work of Messy Church nationally and internationally—writing, speaking,

reflecting and developing Messy projects. She continues to help lead the local Messy Church in her own church, where her husband is the minister.
Before working full-time with Messy Church, Lucy was a member of BRF’s Barnabas team, offering training for those wanting to bring the Bible to life for children in churches and schools across the UK, and using drama and storytelling to explore the Bible with children.

Her books include the Messy Church series, Bethlehem Carols Unpacked, The Gospels Unplugged, The Lord’s Prayer

Unplugged, Topsy Turvy Christmas and Colourful Creation (all Barnabas) and All-Age Worship (BRF, 2010), and she also presents the Messy Church DVD.
A secondary school teacher by training, she enjoys acting, walking Minnie the dog, marvelling at the alien world of her two children and reading eclectically.

Life at the bridge – with God and neighbour at centre by Master of Education, general manager of Christian Pedagogial institute Carsten Hjorth Pedersen, Denmark.
In the daily wandering with the children at the bridge it is crucial that we constantly renew the Christian outlook that has God and the neighbour at centre. This is challenged in Europe by a secular life approach that has the modern Gods and my self at centre.

We will analyse this situation but first and foremost we will look at the great positive potential in the fact that we -adults as well as children- have a God over us and a neighbour at our side. Also at Sunday school!
